MSAP Resource Teacher
Hello, I'm Christine Rudy-Reed
As the Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) Resource Teacher, my role is to implement the grant by coordinating marketing, materials, professional learning, events, andcurriculum at the Creative, Performing, and Media Arts Magnet Middle School (CPMA). My work focuses primarily on curriculum development, educator professional development, and teacher supports such as coaching. I joined the CPMA school community in 2022, and am so happy to serve students, families, and educators from across San Diego in our arts-rich classrooms. Prior to joining CPMA, I was an educator in Chicago Public Schools for almost a decade, holding roles as a teacher assistant, dance teacher, reading interventionist, and arts schools specialist. I also previously taught reading and dance in Ohio for three years. I hold a Masters of Art in Education from Columbia College Chicago and Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in business, arts management, and dance from Bowling Green State University.
My favorite part about teaching is witnessing students discover their passions and express themselves through various art forms. The arts can be an access point in the classroom; the arts are human expression; the arts build community; and the arts are what make our school so special and unique! This is why I love CPMA and what we offer our students! When I am not at CPMA, I can be found staying active and practicing my own art by biking, walking my dog, practicing yoga, and taking dance class.
